My name is Erik Higginbottom and I am an orthodontist at Higginbottom Orthodontics. Being raised in this wonderful area has made me proud of my local community and eager to give back to that which has supported me throughout my journey. After finishing dental school and my orthodontic residency at the University of Maryland, my wife Melissa and I moved back to the area and started our family. We have two boys, Grant and Chad, and love being able to raise them in the place that we both grew up.
Besides our orthodontic practice and family, I love spending time outdoors, coaching and playing sports. I take pride in the philosophy of working hard, but still enjoying every second you can with your friends and family.
Hospice and their outreach has impacted my life in several ways throughout the years. My mother worked for The Talbot Hospice Foundation for over 15 years as a Bereavement Councilor, running support groups for loved ones who lost a child or close family member and helping them through the transition in their lives. Hospice was also there during the final days of my grandmother’s life to assist her along with our family. The support they provided our family as well as numerous others in our community was priceless.
The Talbot Hospice Foundation is truly an amazing mainstay in our community that has touched so many lives during difficult times. It is through the support staff and volunteers that this service can be provided, as well as through generous donations from the residents of Talbot County. The Drag Race is a great community event, designed to assist with the continued financial support that Hospice needs to continue to serve our local area. Please consider a donation to help “to lessen a burden for those facing life’s final journey.”
some fun on Sunday August 30 when Harrison Street turns into a race
track for some of the area’s well known men. These good natured guys
are going to be looking “uptown” as they put on a pair of ladies high
heels and race through “downtown” Easton! It is all in good fun and
being done to raise monies for the Friends of Hospice as a precursor
event for the Festival of Trees event held annually in November.
